R. Blain Consulting is focused on supporting the Lighting, Sound, Projection, and Rigging needs of Theatre and Auditorium Owners and Operators. We provide design, specification, and complete project management services. R. Blain Consulting is a dedicated and reliable service provider with more than 40 years of technical theatre experience, and a proven record in School Districts, Colleges and Universities, and Professional Performing Arts Centers throughout Michigan & Indiana.

Our Mission is to draw upon our experience and vast network of industry professionals to provide theatre and auditorium owners and operators Information, Inspiration, and Services to assist them in realizing their visions and achieving their aspirations.

Following a career that has included working as an IATSE extra, concert touring as a lighting engineer with Tom Jones, serving as Operations Manager for Easter at the White House, serving as a Professor of Lighting & Sound Design & Technology, and working for several lighting and sound integrators, Russ Blain decided in May of 2024 to make available decades of his theater industry experience and acumen by serving customers and communities through theatre and auditorium consulting.
